Accessing homecare support in Hertfordshire via the council

The first step to accessing support though the council is by visiting the adult social services in Hertfordshire home page online. You can request an assessment by the council for home care here.

You can also contact the adult social service department by telephone, on0300 123 4042. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday – 8.30AM-5.30PM. Lines are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. An out of hours service is available for emergencies.

Accessing support for mental health

It can be stressful finding homecare and transitioning to a different way of living in your home.

National charity Mind’s Hertfordshire Mind Network works across Hertfordshire to support positive mental health and wellbeing. It provides services such as one-to-one support and mentoring from eight Wellbeing Centres and other venues across all ten districts in the county. Funded locally, the services are available to all residents in Hertfordshire aged 18+.
